Overall

Leighton Vander Esch is a smart player but relies on his hustle to succeed in college football. He can drop into coverage and is a solid tackler but has many things to work on prior to the draft. Unfortunately, his lack of athleticism and play strength will hurt his value to NFL teams. He was previously considered a 4^th round pick or later, but after having a great showing at the combine, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was drafted earlier.
